Let’s Get Virtual

[September 30, 2008 07:22 PM]

Canada is one of the only developed countries that still hasn’t invested in universal early childhood development and care services.

This means that in the actual world
• Canadian families can’t find affordable care
• Canadian children are missing out on quality care in their early years
• Canadian communities can’t attract young families
• Canadian businesses can’t fill jobs

But these days – election campaigns are waged on-line so now it’s time to take our ‘actual’ child care story to the virtual world.

Here are links to on-line election related sites, blogs and Facebook groups.

Use these links to tell your child care story and spread the word that

1. A taxable allowance of $100 a month has NOT provided parents with more choice.
2. Other countries do it and so can we.
3. Canada STILL needs child care.

Make a commitment to ‘get virtual’ about child care at least once a week between now and October 14.

And – on election day, make sure everyone you know votes child care.
